The Kingfish closed out the last week with a 2-1 record. Strong goaltending from Paxton Schafer on Thursday and a sizzling performance from goalie Brian Lietza on Friday led the Fish to their first wins of the season. An unfortunate bounce off a Kingfish player ruined Leitza’s shutout bid late in the game. Defenseman Josh Mizerek joined the club on Friday and wasted little time getting on the score page. Mizerek scored power play goals Friday vs. Mobile and Saturday in New Orleans (his first goals as a professional).
