WATER ASTIR IN THE FISHTANK
The Baton Rouge Kingfish of the East Coast Hockey League have acquired another college player today. Chris Cerrello, a four year starter and all-time leading scorer at Quinnipiac University (Connecticut), is expected to sign and join the Kingfish for Wednesday’s game versus the Dayton Bombers.

Cerrello, 24, scored 21 goals and 48 points in 36 games this season. The 5’ 11”, 210 lb., native of North Massapequa, New York was a First Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference selection the past two seasons.

Kingfish goaltender Paxton Schafer will miss tomorrow’s game. Schafer was called up to the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League for two games in Norfolk, Virginia. The Ducks play tonight and Wednesday after which Schafer is expected to be returned to Baton Rouge.

Popular Kingfish centerman Andy Doktorchik underwent hand surgery this morning and will be likely lost for the remainder of the season. Doktorchik was injured in New Orleans on Saturday night.

The Kingfish sit in the tenth and final playoff spot in the ECHL’s Southern Conference. The Fish take on the Dayton Bombers Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m., Birmingham on Friday at 7:05 p.m. and Mississippi on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. at the Riverside Centroplex.
