KINGFISH WAIVE MIKE BARRIE
    The Baton Rouge Kingfish have released forward Mike Barrie this morning. Barrie was acquired at the the trade deadline (Feb. 28) from Birmingham in exchange for rookie defenseman Jason McKee. At the time of the trade Barrie was under suspension for a slashing incident against the Arkansas RiverBlades.

In his first game in a Kingfish uniform in Birmingham on March 14 Barrie received a match penalty for high sticking and has been suspended indefinitely by the league until the incident is reviewed. The minimum suspension Barrie is likely to face is seven games.
