Goaltender Paxton Schafer kicked back 43 of the 46 shots he faced to lead the Kingfish to a 4-3 victory in Mobile. Schafer has not lost a game since December 3rd in Augusta. The All-Star netminder has a 8-1-5 record in his last 15 starts making him one of the hottest goalies in the league. The win in Mobile capped a 1-2-1 week for the Kingfish and moved them into a tie for fifth in the Southwest Division. Centerman Mike Rucinski has scored in each of the three road games this past weekend and has 14 points in the last 10 games. The road swing continues this week with games in Tallahassee and Greenville.

First of two visits to the Florida Capitol for the Kingfish. The Tiger Sharks are one point ahead of the Kingfish in the Southern Conference standings with one game in hand going into this weeks play.


Fri., Jan. 20, in Greenville               7:05P                                  BI-LO Center

Second and last trip to Greenville. The Kingfish have 4-0-1 all time record versus the Grrrowl. Greenville goalie Nick Vitucci has beaten every ECHL team except Baton Rouge and his own Grrrowl squad.

1/10   Kingfish 2 vs. Bandits 5

The Kingfish failed to solve the Bandits for the fifth time this season. Winger Matt Erredge scored both Kingfish goals late in the game to spoil Jackson goalie Mike Tamburro’s shut out attempt. The Kingfish fired a season low 16 shots on net.






1/12   Kingfish 4 at IceGators 5 (SO)

Fourth shoot out between these clubs this season both teams winning twice. Jon Sturgis tied the game late in the third on a nifty feed from Matt Erredge.


1/13  Kingfish 1 at Brass 4

New Orleans scored three unanswered third period goals to for their fourth win in six starts versus the Kingfish. Mike Rucinski deflected a wayward pass from Jon Sturgis to tie the game at one in the second period.


1/14  Kingfish 4 at Mysticks 3

The only game in Mobile for the Kingfish this season. Sturgis scored his fourth game winner this year with a power play goal in the second period. Defenseman Dane Litke added two assists.
